Pattern 4 (Make 4-5 strands if using East Track II or Ladder Ribbon Maxi, 3 strands if combining 2 ladder ribbons)
This pattern may be made with a single strand of Ladder Ribbon Maxi or East Track II, or a combination of 2 ladder ribbons. A multitude of color combinations may be achieved by combining different colored ladder ribbons. Be adventurous and try out different color combinations. You will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome!
If using 2 ladder ribbon yarns held together, Ch 42 (this makes a length of approx. 24").
Alternatively you may crochet the stitches, then measure
when it reaches desired length.
Slip stitch in first stitch to form a loop/circle. This forms the first loop/circle strand.
Ch 44 for 2nd strand.
To make the 2nd loop/circle strand, slip stitch through first stitches of BOTH first and second strands.
Ch 46 for 3rd strand.
To make the 3rd loop/circle strand, slip stitch through first stitches of all 3 strands.
Bind off. Weave in all ends.
Note: Strands are increased by 2 stitches for each increasing length of strand.
This pattern may also be worked with just one strand of Ladder Ribbon or East Track. If using East Track, use Size N15 crochet hook and Ch 42 or until length is 24". If using Ladder Ribbon, you may wish to make 7 strands so the necklace looks fuller and bulkier.
Pattern 5*New
This pattern uses 2 strands of yarn held together. The necklace in the picture uses Stellalume and Ladder Ribbon Maxi held together. However a combination of the various ladder ribbons, Stellalume and Magical Treat may be used to create countless color combinations.
To make necklace:
Using P16 (11.5 mm) crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn held together, Ch 42 (this makes a length of approx. 24").
Alternatively you may crochet the stitches, then measure
when it reaches desired length.
Slip stitch in first stitch to form a loop/circle. This forms the first loop/circle strand.
Ch 70 for 2nd strand (this makes a length of approx. 40"). Alternatively you may crochet the stitches, then measure
when it reaches desired length.
To make the 2nd loop/circle strand, slip stitch through first stitches of BOTH first and second strands.
Bind off. Weave in all ends.
Pattern 6*New
This is a pattern for a loopy-look ladder ribbon necklace. This pattern works best with Ladder Ribbon Maxi or East Track II. Use I9 (5.5 mm) or J10 (6 mm) crochet hook.
To make necklace:
Note: SPACE refers to the space between the colorful panels on the ladder ribbon.
First Strand:
Ch 1;
*Insert crochet hook into the next available SPACE on the ladder ribbon, do not pull yarn through, skip next 3-4 spaces, insert crochet hook into next SPACE, pull yarn through both stitches. (Note: the more SPACEs you skip, the bigger the loop will be).
Rep * until strand measures 22" (or desired length).
Slip stitch in first stitch to form a loop/circle. This forms the first loop/circle strand.
2nd Strand:
Repeat as for First Strand but work till strand measures 25" (or 3-4" longer than First Strand).
Slip stitch in first stitch to form a loop/circle. This forms the 2nd loop/circle strand.
3rd Strand:
Repeat as for First Strand but work till strand measures 28" (or 3-4" longer than 2nd Strand).
Slip stitch in first stitch to form a loop/circle. This forms the 3rd loop/circle strand.
Bind off. Weave in all ends.
Pattern 7*New
This is a pattern for an adjustable ladder ribbon necklace. Length may be adjusted from 18 inches to 30 inches. For this pattern, you would need 3 pony beads for adjusting the length. (See above Materials for crochet hook size).
To make necklace: (Make 3 or 4 strands using East Track II or Ladder Ribbon Maxi; 6 or 7 strands using Ladder Ribbon or Ladder Ribbon Glitter)
Measure about 14" from edge of yarn and make slip knot.
Chain stitch until length of chained stitches measures approx 18".
Bind off and cut yarn about 14" from bound off stitch.
Make the desired number of strands.
Line up the first stitch of all strands and tie a knot directly above the first stitch for all strands. Then tie another knot over this knot to make a bigger knot (this makes a double knot). This ensures that the pony bead will not slip down the necklace.
Thread each strand through a yarn needle and slip each strand one by one through a pony bead until all strands are through the bead. Tie another double knot after the bead to prevent the bead from slipping.
(We shall call this the stopper bead). Do the same for the other end.
Now thread each strand through a yarn needle and slip each strand one by one through a third pony bead (this is the adjustable bead) until all strands are through the bead. Slide this bead till it touches the knots for the stopper beads. Line up the 2 stopper beads on each end next to each other on a flat surface and smooth out the loose strands. Tie a knot with all strands about 6" from the stopper beads. Trim the ends.
You now have an adjustable necklace! By moving the adjustable pony bead up and down, you can adjust the length of the necklace.
