Easy instructions to crochet enchanting medallion necklaces.

 

Finished Measurements: Approx length: 25"

 

Materials:
Stellalume #46 (A), #70 (B), #95 (C)
Crochet hook Size F5 / 3.75 mm

 

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
st = stitch
hdc = half double crochet

 

Crochet medallion pattern
Using A, ch 4, sl st to 1st chain to form ring.
Rd 1: Ch 2, 12 hdc in ring; join with sl st to top of ch 2 to complete round.
Rd 2: Attach B, ch2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in every st around; join with sl st to top of ch 2 to complete round.
Rd 3: Attach C, ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in next st, *(2hc in next st, hc in next st), rep * till end, join with sl st to top of ch 2 to complete round. Bind off.

 

Make a second medallion but do not bind off.

 

Join Medallions
Ch 3, sl st to one side on Medallion 1, sl st in next st on Medallion 1, ch 3, sl st in next st on Medallion 2 that is parallel to Medallion 1, sl st in next st on Medallion 2, ch 3, sl st in next st on Medallion 1 that is parallel to Medallion 2. Bind off.

 

Make a third medallion and join to Medallion 2 as above, making sure that all joining chains are in line on all rows for each medallion.

 

To make necklace (long chains – left side)
Ch 52, leaving a long tail. Attach with slip st to Medallion 3 on side directly opposite to short joining chains, starting with the lowest of the 3 short chains. Sl st in next st above; Ch 50, bind off, leaving a long tail.

 

Ch 48, leaving a long tail. Attach with sl st to Medallion 3 in st above 2nd long chain.
Make a knot at the end of the 3 long chains, braid the 3 strands till you get to the end and make another knot at the end.

 

Repeat the same as above for the long chains on the right side.

 

Tie the 2 braided ends together and you have a necklace that you can slip over your head easily.

 

Variations:

• Use the same color yarn for all 3 medallions and chains to make a single color necklace.
• To make a necklace with smaller medallions, work 2 rounds instead of 3 of the crochet medallion pattern.
• Vary the length between medallions if you prefer to have them more spaced out and further apart.
