Fresco

The word 'fresco' comes from the Italian word affresco which derives from the adjective fresco ("fresh"), which has Latin origins.

Fresco is a wonderful wool/acrylic/cotton blend yarn with an interesting construction. Multiple strands of yarn are first plied in one direction, and the resulting yarns then plied in the opposite direction, producing a yarn with a frothy, almost chain-like appearance. Combining the warmth of wool, the flexibilty of acrylic and the comfort of cotton, Fresco demonstrates good moisture absorption qualitites, durability, shape retention and incredible comfort. This superb yarn comes in fresh lovely color combinations, and works up beautifully.

Used on its own or combined with another yarn, it is sure to add color and freshness to any project. It is so pretty to look at, so soft to touch - you would definitely want to add some of this yarn to your stash!

Fresco is color-coordinated with its cousin yarn, Mirage, and may be used double stranded with Mirage for a thicker, deliciously soft and warm fabric.
