Knitted Measurements
Will fit head circumference of 21"
Materials
1 x So Soft - color: Magenta (A) (or color of your choice)
1 x So Soft - color: Baby Pink (B) (or color of your choice)
US Size 9 (5.5 mm) knitting needles
Note: This pattern uses yarn that has been discontinued. It may be substituted with Bunny Soft or yarn of similar gauge.
Abbreviations:
K = knit
M1 = make one stitch
K2tog = knit 2 stitches together
BO = bind off
To knit hat:
With A, Cast on 41 stitches
R1: K1, M1, K to last 2 st, K2tog.
R2: Purl
R3-6: Repeat R1 & 2
Join B (Do not cut A)
R7: K1, M1, K to last 2 st, K2tog.
R8: Knit
R9-12: Rep R7-8
Note: Do not cut yarn after each color change. Carry yarn loosely along the side, making sure to not pull tightly.
Continue to work R1-12 until piece measures 21" from beginning. Bind off all stitches loosely.
Finishing
Sew bound off edge to cast on edge. Using white yarn/thread, work running stitch along the side where yarn has been carried up for color change. Pull tightly to shape top. Weave in all loose ends.
Optional
Make pom pom and attach to top of hat.
