Knitted Measurements:
Will stretch to fit head circumference of 18"-21"
Materials
1 ball East Track II or Ladder Ribbon Maxi, Col. 86 (or color of your choice)
US Size 10 circular (16") and double-point knitting needles
Gauge: Approx 14 st = 4" in stockinette stitch
To knit hat:
Cast on 63 stitches with circular needles. Join to form a circle, being careful not to twist sts. Place marker to mark beginning of round.
Rd 1: Knit
Rd 2: Purl
Now knit every round until piece measures 7".
Decrease
Continuing to knit every round and switching to double point needles when needed:
Rd 1: *(Knit 7 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 56 sts remain.
Rd 2: *(Knit 6 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 49 sts remain.
Rd 3: *(Knit 5 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 42 sts remain.
Rd 4: *(Knit 4 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 35 sts remain.
Rd 5: *(Knit 3 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 28 sts remain.
Rd 6: *(Knit 2 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 21 sts remain.
Rd 6: *(Knit 1 st, knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 14 sts remain.
Rd 6: *(Knit 2 sts together), rep * around - 7 sts remain.
Finishing:
Cut yarn, leaving a tail of about 6". Weave through remaining stitches, removing stitches from knitting needle. Draw up tightly. Weave in loose ends.
