These washcloths/dishcloths made with Mainly cotton yarn are soft and extremely durable. They are non-pilling and hold up well through many washes. The patterns are easy and quick to make, and each pattern uses just one ball of Mainly cotton yarn.
Materials
Each pattern uses 1 ball of Mainly cotton yarn
US Size 10 1/2 (6.5 mm) knitting needles
Measurements
Washcloths/Dishcloths measure approx 9.5"-10" x 9.5"-10"
Diagonal Stitch Washcloth/Dishcloth:
CO 3 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2 (increase row): K1, YO, K till end.
Repeat Row 2 till there are 56 sts on needle.
Knit even for 2 rows.
Decrease Row: K1, YO, slip 1 st, slip 1 st, knit both sts together, K till last 2 st, knit 2 st together.
Repeat Decrease Row till 3 sts remain.
Bind off all stitches. Weave in all ends.
Double Seed Stitch Washcloth/Dishcloth:
CO 40 sts
Row 1-2: *(K1, P1), rep * till end.
Row 3-4: *(K2, P2), rep * till end.
Row 5-6: *(P2, K2), rep * till end.
Repeat R3-6 till washcloth/dishcloth measures approx 9.5".
Repeat R1-2.
Bind off all stitches in pattern. Weave in all ends.
Basketweave Washcloth/Dishcloth:
CO 40 sts
Row 1-6: *(K4, P4), rep * till end.
Row 7-12: *(P4, K4), rep * till end.
Repeat R1-12 --- 4 more times
Repeat R1-6.
Bind off all stitches in pattern. Weave in all ends.
Frames Washcloth/Dishcloth:
CO 40 sts
Row 1: *(K2, P6), rep * till end.
Repeat R1-8 --- 8 more times
Bind off all stitches in pattern. Weave in all ends.
