Sari Symphony recycled sari silk ribbon is a luxurious silk ribbon made from remnants of beautiful saris leftover during production of the full saris, repurposing the fabric into a continuous ribbon suitable for many projects. The sari material is hand-torn or hand cut into strips, sewn end-to-end to create a continuous ribbon, then hand-dyed in small batches or presented as is.
The sari silk ribbons come in a kaleidoscope of colors, ranging from soft pastels to vibrant rich tones. They have a beautiful sheen and are silky to the touch. Due to the handmade nature of the ribbons, there is variation in thickness, color and texture and the edges have some amount of fray. Each skein is unique and there are no two skeins exactly alike.
These ribbons can be used for weaving, crocheting, knitting, braiding, jewelry making and fiber art.
Our recycled sari silk ribbons are ethically and sustainably sourced and produced by fair trade women’s cooperatives that ensure weavers and artisans get adequate remuneration for their craft.
