Free Crochet Pattern: Diamond Mesh Stitch

Bookmark and Share

These scarves and shawls were made using the Diamond Mesh Stitch. The Diamond Mesh Stitch is a versatile stitch made using a combination of simple crochet stitches to create an open diamond pattern. It may be used with virtually any type of yarn, and the amount of openness may be varied by varying the number of stitches used in the chain-spaces. It is also easy to vary the width of the project just by varying the number of repeats of the pattern.

The Diamond Mesh Stitch is suitable for making scarves, shawls, stoles, hats, tops, bags and accessories. The pattern may be used for the entire piece, or inserted in sections of the piece to add visual interest.

The scarves and shawls made using the Diamond Mesh Stitch look more complicated than they really are! In our patterns, we used Berlini Ladder Ribbon Glitter, Berlini Ladder Ribbon Maxi, Berlini East Track II, Berlini Captain and Silver Swan Cotton Spa just to show how each of these yarns look when made up.
